The Frederick R. Sindt Everest Award is presented to an individual in the greater community who has made significant contributions to promoting Southern Colorado. Named in honor of Fred Sindt—whose instrumental efforts helped bring the World Arena to fruition and whose deep community involvement left a lasting legacy—this award reflects his enduring dedication to the region.
Established in 1998, the Frederick R. Sindt Everest Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed by AAF Colorado. It recognizes those whose vision, leadership, and commitment have helped shape the Pikes Peak region into what it is today.
Past recipients include John Weiss, the Lane Family, Harry Hoth, Mary Mashburn, Robert Telmosse, William Hybl, Nancy Lewis, Terry Sullivan, Jed Jackson, Pete Susemihl, and, of course, Frederick Sindt.
