Jay Weets has been graphic designer and technical illustrator for almost 30 years and knew he wanted to be an “artist of some sort” from the tender age of 10. He is currently the Graphic Design Lead at ENSCO, in which half of the work he does can’t be shown to anyone without the men in black showing up in the night to take you away… okay, he’ll probably just get fired, but that doesn’t sound as cool. He serves on the Pikes Peak State College Multimedia and Graphic Design education advisory board, is an active member of the AIGA COS group, and serves on the Pikes Peak Business and Education Alliance (PPBEA) Arts & Multimedia Advisory Board where he helps local school districts/colleges and their students who are interested in the creative arts to connect with local industry professionals. He regularly speaks to art classes, career day events, and mentors any student interested in the creative arts.
When he miraculously has any free time, you’ll find him in the great Colorado outdoors, always sketching, reading, video games, working on a dozen passion projects, or in his garage building and woodworking (and drinking enough Mountain Dew to give him the energy to do all that).
